HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 144

A RESOLUTION
To express the condolences of the Louisiana House of Representatives upon the death of
Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso.
WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
Louisiana House of Representatives learned of the death of Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso of
Alexandria on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at the age of eighty-nine; and
WHEREAS, Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso, was born on August 8, 1924, and was a
resident of Alexandria, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso was an active member of the Catholic
Daughters of America Court Bishop Desmond, St. Joseph Daughters, and the Amicus Club;
and
WHEREAS, Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso shared a passion for cooking and
gardening; and
WHEREAS, Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso touched many lives with her energetic
love of church, family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,
sister, niece, and friend, and loved spending time with her family, and in particular, taking
care of her grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso will be dearly missed by her daughter,
Donna G. Robinson and her husband Bill Elmer; her five sons, Sam J. Glorioso, Jr., and his
wife Gracie of Alexandria; Joseph C. Glorioso and his wife Joan of Natchez, Louisiana;
Charles P. Glorioso of Alexandria; Michael P. Glorioso of Pineville; and Anthony "Tony"
Glorioso of Ruby; a sister, Angelina S. Barrere of Mandeville; fourteen grandchildren;
twenty-four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. ENROLLEDHR NO. 144

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the
death of Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso, does hereby record for posterity the tremendous
impact this kind, personable, loving, beautiful, and faithful lady made on her family and
friends in Alexandria.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the family of Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso.
