BY REPRESENTATIVE HODGES
COMMENDATIONS: Commends Kathryn and Waylon Peevy upon the occasion of their
seventieth wedding anniversary
A RESOLUTION1
To commend Kathryn and Waylon Peevey upon the occasion of their seventieth wedding2
anniversary.3
WHEREAS, Kathryn Elizabeth Shiveley and Waylon Everette Peevey were joined4
together in holy matrimony on June 15, 1944, in Baton Rouge; and5
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize and commend them upon the celebration6
of their seventieth wedding anniversary; and7
WHEREAS, to their union were born three children, and their descendants include8
nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and9
WHEREAS, the commitment of Kathryn and Waylon Peevey to marriage is a10
reflection of the Biblical position for this institution as a union under the covenant of God;11
and12
WHEREAS, all who observe this marriage are reminded of the beauty, grace, and13
love that traditional marriage offers; and14
WHEREAS, the seventieth wedding anniversary of this special couple is a joyous15
and memorable occasion that merits sincere congratulations.16
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the17
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Kathryn and Waylon Peevey upon the18
occasion of their seventieth wedding anniversary.19
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted20
