HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 150
BY REPRESENTATIVE HODGES
A RESOLUTION
To commend Kathryn and Waylon Peevey upon the occasion of their seventieth wedding
anniversary.
WHEREAS, Kathryn Elizabeth Shiveley and Waylon Everette Peevey were joined
together in holy matrimony on June 15, 1944, in Baton Rouge; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize and commend them upon the celebration
of their seventieth wedding anniversary; and
WHEREAS, to their union were born three children, and their descendants include
nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and
WHEREAS, the commitment of Kathryn and Waylon Peevey to marriage is a
reflection of the Biblical position for this institution as a union under the covenant of God;
and
WHEREAS, all who observe this marriage are reminded of the beauty, grace, and
love that traditional marriage offers; and
WHEREAS, the seventieth wedding anniversary of this special couple is a joyous
and memorable occasion that merits sincere congratulations.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Kathryn and Waylon Peevey upon the
occasion of their seventieth wedding anniversary.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Kathryn and Waylon Peevey.
