HLS 14RS-4949 ORIGINAL Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 169 BY REPRESENTATIVE GUINN COMMENDATIONS: Commends the organizers and participants of the 2014 National Corvette Caravan and welcomes them to Louisiana A RESOLUTION1 To commend the organizers and participants of the 2014 National Corvette Caravan and2 welcome them to Louisiana.3 WHEREAS, the first generation of the Corvette was released in 1953; the car quickly4 became emblematic of American precision and design, and after more than sixty years on5 the market the Corvette has maintained its rightful place as one of the most extraordinary6 feats of American innovation; and7 WHEREAS, there are many ways for owners of this unique example of Americana8 to show their Corvette pride, but few more spectacular than when thousands of Corvettes9 from all over the country make the pilgrimage to Bowling Green, Kentucky, for the National10 Corvette Caravan; and11 WHEREAS, it is a journey, an exodus, an adventure, and, in a way, a cause that12 shows the world the passion that drives Corvette owners and the unique bond that brings13 them together from the farthest reaches of the continent and even beyond that and other14 countries; Corvettes from every generation begin their quest, joining with other cars along15 the way, forming spontaneous parades that sometimes stretch for miles that finally converge16 on the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green; and17 WHEREAS, stops are often planned along the way to make the drive even more fun;18 stopping at attractions to become attractions themselves where the public can witness this19 legendary automotive phenomenon; and20 HLS 14RS-4949 ORIGINAL HR NO. 169 Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, the 2014 National Corvette Caravan, the ultimate expression of that1 unique loyalty that belongs to Corvette owners, will stop in Jennings, Louisiana, on August2 23, 2014, before continuing their journey to the 20th Anniversary Celebration for the3 National Corvette Museum.4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the5 Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the organizers and participants of the 20146 National Corvette Caravan and welcome them to Louisiana and do hereby extend best7 wishes and safe travels as their voyage takes them on our highways and byways ultimately8 to participate in the 20th Anniversary Celebration for the National Corvette Museum.9 DIGEST The digest printed below was prepared by House Legislative Services.
