HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 175

A RESOLUTION1
To commend Pierce Thionville, of Harahan, for his outstanding achievements in the sport2
of competitive swimming.3
WHEREAS, young Mr. Thionville broke the Louisiana 10 and under male 500-yard4
freestyle record with a time of 5:44.40; and5
WHEREAS, Pierce Thionville was named the 2013 Louisiana male 12 and under6
Swimmer of the Year by Louisiana Swimming; and7
WHEREAS, parents Andre and Angele Thionville created the perfect environment8
for Pierce by placing him in competitive swimming at the tender age of five; his abilities9
soon became apparent, and he has won ten individual state championships; and10
WHEREAS, at the age of eleven, Pierce Thionville shows no signs of treading water11
on his swimming odyssey, and it is with great pride that the members of the House of12
Representatives commend his winning ways.13
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the14
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Pierce Thionville for the dedication and15
energy he has given to the sport of competitive swimming; does hereby congratulate him on16
his swimming records and achievements; and does hereby extend to him best wishes for17
continued good fortune as he pursues his dreams in the world of competitive swimming.18
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted19
to Mr. Pierce Thionville.20
