HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 40

COMMENDATIONS: Commends Stedman Graham for his contributions to society
A RESOLUTION1
To commend Stedman Graham on his many contributions to society and to welcome him to2
Louisiana.3
WHEREAS, Stedman Graham is an American educator, author, businessman, and4
speaker and it is appropriate to commend him for his many accomplishments and5
achievements; and6
WHEREAS, he received a bachelor's degree in social work from Hardin-Simmons7
University in 1974, and a master's degree in education from Ball State University in 1979;8
and9
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham is chairman and chief executive officer of S. Graham and10
Associates, a management and marketing consulting firm that specializes in the corporate11
and educational markets; and12
WHEREAS, he is the author of multiple best-selling books, including You Can Make13
It Happen: A Nine-Step Plan For Success and Teens Can Make It Happen: Nine Steps To14
Success, and he regularly speaks across the country on educational, management, and15
marketing topics; and16
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham founded and directed George Washington University's17
Forum for Sport and Event Management and Marketing, the first of its kind in the country,18
and currently serves as an adjunct professor for several universities around the country; and19
WHEREAS, he is also a former adjunct professor at the University of20
Illinois-Chicago where he taught a leadership course based on his Nine-Step Success21 HLS 14RS-2011 ORIGINAL

Process, a learning management system designed to organize your life around your identity;1
and2
WHEREAS, he also taught a management strategy course entitled "The Dynamics3
of Leadership" at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University;4
and5
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham's mission is to transform people from followers to leaders6
and change the way they think and learn; and7
WHEREAS, he is visiting Excellence Academy on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, to8
promote his signature program, the Nine-Step Success Process; and 9
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham serves as an inspiration to others through his actions and10
strength of character and merits the highest measure of commendation for the tremendous11
honor and pride that he brings to his family and friends and his community.12
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the13
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Stedman Graham on his many contributions14
to society, does hereby recognize his outstanding service and dedication toward the15
betterment of his community and mankind, does hereby record for posterity his remarkable16
achievements, accomplishments, and accolades, does hereby welcome him to the state of17
Louisiana, and does hereby extend to him best wishes for continued success in all of his18
future endeavors.19
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted20
to Stedman Graham.21
