HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 40
BY REPRESENTATIVE KATRINA JACKSON
A RESOLUTION
To commend Stedman Graham on his many contributions to society and to welcome him to
Louisiana.
WHEREAS, Stedman Graham is an American educator, author, businessman, and
speaker and it is appropriate to commend him for his many accomplishments and
achievements; and
WHEREAS, he received a bachelor's degree in social work from Hardin-Simmons
University in 1974, and a master's degree in education from Ball State University in 1979;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham is chairman and chief executive officer of S. Graham and
Associates, a management and marketing consulting firm that specializes in the corporate
and educational markets; and
WHEREAS, he is the author of multiple best-selling books, including You Can Make
It Happen: A Nine-Step Plan For Success and Teens Can Make It Happen: Nine Steps To
Success, and he regularly speaks across the country on educational, management, and
marketing topics; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham founded and directed George Washington University's
Forum for Sport and Event Management and Marketing, the first of its kind in the country,
and currently serves as an adjunct professor for several universities around the country; and
WHEREAS, he is also a former adjunct professor at the University of
Illinois-Chicago where he taught a leadership course based on his Nine-Step Success
Process, a learning management system designed to organize your life around your identity;

WHEREAS, he also taught a management strategy course entitled "The Dynamics
of Leadership" at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham's mission is to transform people from followers to leaders
and change the way they think and learn; and
WHEREAS, he is visiting Excellence Academy on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, to
promote his signature program, the Nine-Step Success Process; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham serves as an inspiration to others through his actions and
strength of character and merits the highest measure of commendation for the tremendous
honor and pride that he brings to his family and friends and his community.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Stedman Graham on his many contributions
to society, does hereby recognize his outstanding service and dedication toward the
betterment of his community and mankind, does hereby record for posterity his remarkable
achievements, accomplishments, and accolades, does hereby welcome him to the state of
Louisiana, and does hereby extend to him best wishes for continued success in all of his
future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Stedman Graham.
