COMMENDATIONS: Commends Bryttani MacNamara of Sulphur, Louisiana, upon her
receipt of a 2014 Prudential Spirit of Community Award for volunteer services
A RESOLUTION1
To commend Bryttani MacNamara on being named one of the top youth volunteers in the2
state of Louisiana for the year of 2014, in the nineteenth annual Prudential Spirit of3
Community Awards.4
WHEREAS, Bryttani MacNamara, an esteemed resident of Sulphur, Louisiana, and5
a freshman at Sulphur High School, has achieved national recognition for exemplary6
volunteer service by receiving a 2014 Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and7
WHEREAS, this prestigious award, presented by Prudential Financial in partnership8
with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, honors young volunteers9
across America who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to serving their10
communities; and11
WHEREAS, more than thirty thousand young people across the country participated12
in the nineteenth annual Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program; and13
WHEREAS, Bryttani MacNamara earned this extraordinary award by giving14
generously of her time and energy to "Operation Hope", an organization founded by Ms.15
MacNamara and completely run by teenagers who have a goal of ending human trafficking16
and slavery; and17
WHEREAS, since "Operation Hope" was founded in 2012, Bryttani MacNamara has18
organized a charity walk, coordinated lemonade stands, held awareness events at hotels and19
truck stops, and raised five hundred dollars to support the "End It Movement"; and20 HLS 14RS-2178 ORIGINAL

WHEREAS, the success of the state of Louisiana, the strength of our communities,1
and the overall vitality of American society depend upon the dedication of young individuals2
like Bryttani MacNamara who use their considerable talents and resources to serve others.3
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the4
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Bryttani MacNamara of Sulphur, Louisiana,5
as a 2014 recipient of a Prudential Spirit of Community Award, recognizes her outstanding6
record of volunteer service, peer leadership, and community spirit, and hereby extends best7
wishes for her continued success and happiness in the future.8
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted9
to Bryttani MacNamara.10
