HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 46
BY REPRESENTATIVE DANAHAY
A RESOLUTION
To commend Bryttani MacNamara on being named one of the top youth volunteers in the
state of Louisiana for the year of 2014, in the nineteenth annual Prudential Spirit of
Community Awards.
WHEREAS, Bryttani MacNamara, an esteemed resident of Sulphur, Louisiana, and
a freshman at Sulphur High School, has achieved national recognition for exemplary
volunteer service by receiving a 2014 Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and
WHEREAS, this prestigious award, presented by Prudential Financial in partnership
with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, honors young volunteers
across America who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to serving their
communities; and
WHEREAS, more than thirty thousand young people across the country participated
in the nineteenth annual Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program; and
WHEREAS, Bryttani MacNamara earned this extraordinary award by giving
generously of her time and energy to "Operation Hope", an organization founded by Ms.
MacNamara and completely run by teenagers who have a goal of ending human trafficking
and slavery; and
WHEREAS, since "Operation Hope" was founded in 2012, Bryttani MacNamara has
organized a charity walk, coordinated lemonade stands, held awareness events at hotels and
truck stops, and raised five hundred dollars to support the "End It Movement"; and
WHEREAS, the success of the state of Louisiana, the strength of our communities,
and the overall vitality of American society depend upon the dedication of young individuals
like Bryttani MacNamara who use their considerable talents and resources to serve others. ENROLLEDHR NO. 46

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Bryttani MacNamara of Sulphur, Louisiana,
as a 2014 recipient of a Prudential Spirit of Community Award, recognizes her outstanding
record of volunteer service, peer leadership, and community spirit, and hereby extends best
wishes for her continued success and happiness in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Bryttani MacNamara.
