COMMENDATIONS: Commends the La. Physical Therapy Association for its outstanding
achievements and recognizes March 31-April 4, 2014, as La. Physical Therapy
Association Week
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association for its outstanding achievements2
and to recognize March 31 through April 4, 2014, as Louisiana Physical Therapy3
Association Week.4
WHEREAS, the mission of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association, the5
principal membership organization in Louisiana representing and promoting the profession6
of physical therapy, is to enhance the physical health and functional abilities of members of7
the public and to further the profession's role in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of8
movement dysfunctions and neuromusculoskeletal conditions; and9
WHEREAS, the vision statement of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association is10
that the association will advocate that physical therapy become the public's choice for the11
diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neuromusculoskeletal conditions and movement12
dysfunctions by expanding membership and enhancing participation in legislative13
policymaking to achieve greater influence in health care delivery issues; and14
WHEREAS, physical therapists and physical therapist assistants consistently aspire15
to wisely apply the principles of altruism, excellence, caring, ethics, respect, communication,16
and accountability, and they work together with other professionals to achieve optimal health17

WHEREAS, the dedication of the men and women of the Louisiana Physical Therapy1
Association has made a significant and positive difference in communities throughout the2
state, and the members of the association merit a special measure of commendation; and3
WHEREAS, members of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association have gathered4
at the state capitol on Thursday, April 3, 2014, to celebrate Louisiana Physical Therapy5
Association Week.6
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the7
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the members of the Louisiana Physical8
Therapy Association for their outstanding achievements; does hereby recognize and record9
for posterity their unwavering commitment to excellence in serving the state's citizens; does10
hereby extend enduring appreciation for the pride and honor they bring to the state of11
Louisiana; and does hereby recognize March 31 through April 4, 2014, as Louisiana Physical12
Therapy Association Week.13
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted14
to the president of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association.15
