HLS 14RS-3225 ORIGINAL Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 75 BY REPRESENTATIVE KLECKLEY SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Recognizes Monday, April 14, 2014, as NFIB/Louisiana Small Business Day at the state capitol A RESOLUTION1 To recognize Monday, April 14, 2014, as National Federation of Independent Business/2 Louisiana Small Business Day at the state capitol.3 WHEREAS, both governmental and private entities alike herald small businesses as4 the backbone of the American economy; and5 WHEREAS, founded in 1943 and headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, the6 National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is a small business advocacy7 association that represents small and independent businesses before government policy8 makers in all fifty states and provides services to its member organizations; and9 WHEREAS, 350,000 small and independent business owners enjoy the camaraderie10 and beneficial nature of the NFIB through use of the federation's many products and11 services, such as commercial and health insurance; equipment maintenance and repair12 discounts; and marketing expertise designed to improve the reach of small businesses; and13 WHEREAS, the Young Entrepreneur Foundation, the Research Foundation, and the14 Small Business Legal Center are auxiliaries of the NFIB that serve young men and women15 in their business startups, conduct polls that provide strategic information to NFIB members,16 and offer legal services; and17 WHEREAS, NFIB/Louisiana Small Business Day at the capitol is Monday, April 14,18 2014, and it is appropriate to recognize the contributions of small businesses in Louisiana19 to the thriving economy of the state.20 HLS 14RS-3225 ORIGINAL HR NO. 75 Page 2 of 2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the1 Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Monday, April 14, 2014, as NFIB/Louisiana2 Small Business Day at the capitol and does hereby commend small business owners and3 operators throughout the state.4 DIGEST The digest printed below was prepared by House Legislative Services.
