Walsworth (SB 168)
Present law creates the Louisiana Public Defender Board. The board has 15 members, plus two
ex officio, nonvoting members.
Proposed law requires that at least two members of the board shall be appointed from each of the
six congressional districts.
Provides that appointments shall be made to bring the board into compliance with proposed law
as vacancies occur, whether by expiration of current terms, resignation, or other events or
occurrences.
Effective August 1, 2014.
