MOTOR VEHICLES.  Provides relative to public tag agents. (gov sig)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 47:532.1(E), relative to motor vehicles; to provide with respect to public tag2
agents; to provide with respect to a notary public and a public tag agent; to provide3
with respect to fees of public tag agents; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 47:532.1(E) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 6
ยง532.1. Public license tag agents; auto title companies; rules and regulations; surety7
bonds; fees8

E.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, rule, and regulation of10
the commissioner, and the provisions of this Section, a public tag agent shall not11
have a notary public to provide notarial services on its site, shall not charge a12
fee of any kind for execution of any document by a notary public deemed13
necessary to process a complete transaction, and shall charge and collect only14
one convenience fee to process a complete transaction.15
Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not16
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature17 SB NO. 173

by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If1
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become2
effective on the day following such approval.3
