AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 33:2476(B)(1)(d) and (C)(4), relative to the city of New Iberia municipal fire2
and police civil service system board; to provide for membership on the board; to3
provide for an effective date; and to provide for related matters.4
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 33:2476(B)(1)(d) and (C)(4) are hereby enacted to read as follows:7

B.(1)(a) *          *          *10
(d) Notwithstanding the provisions of Subparagraph (b) of this11
Paragraph, only one member shall be elected from the city of New Iberia12
municipal fire and police civil service system in accordance with Paragraph13
(C)(4) of this Section, provided that such exception is approved by resolution of14
the city of New Iberia governing authority.15

(4) Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph (3) of this Subsection,18
if R.S. 33:2495.2 becomes applicable, only one member shall be elected from the19
city of New Iberia municipal fire and police civil service system and one20
member shall be appointed by the mayor of the city of New Iberia upon his own21
nomination, provided that such exception is approved by resolution of the city22
of New Iberia governing authority.23

Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not25
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature26
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If27 SB NO. 186	ENROLLED

vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become1
effective on the day following such approval.2
