AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 49:161.2, relative to state symbols; to provide for the official state horse; and2
to provide for related matters.3
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4
Section 1.  R.S. 49:161.2 is hereby enacted to read as follows:5
§161.2. State horse6
There shall be an official state horse. The official state horse shall be the7
American Paint Horse. Its use on official documents of the state and with the8
insignia of the state is hereby authorized.9

Proposed law provides that the American Paint Horse will be the official state horse and
authorizes its use on official documents of the state and with the insignia of the state.
Effective August 1, 2014.
