John Smith (SB 234)
Present law provides that in addition to the court costs authorized by 	present law, the mayor of
the town of New Llano, as the presiding officer of the mayor's court of the town of New Llano,
may impose additional court costs not to exceed $20 for each offense, as defined by ordinance,
on any defendant convicted of a violation of a municipal ordinance.
Proposed law increases the additional court cost not to exceed $40 for each offense and  provides
that $10 dollars of any additional court costs collected pursuant to present law shall be remitted
to the 30

 Judicial District's Indigent Defender's Fund.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
