FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS.  Provides relative to financial institutions. (8/1/14)
AN ACT1
To enact Code of Civil Procedure Art. 1461.1, relative to production of documents; to2
provide relative to financial institutions; to provide for financial records in the3
possession of a federally insured financial institution; to provide for procedure, terms4
and conditions; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. Code of Civil Procedure Art. 1461.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows:7
Art. 1461.1.  Production of documents and things; financial records8
Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, any9
collection or seizure of financial records in the possession of a federally insured10
financial institution that operates in Louisiana and has its main office or one or11
more branches located in this state shall be conducted in accordance with the12
requirements set forth in R.S. 6:333.13 SB NO. 301

Present law provides for requirements for disclosure of financial records by a bank or its
affiliates.
Proposed law provides that notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, any
collection or seizure of financial records in the possession of a federally insured financial
institution that operates in Louisiana and has its main office or one or more branches located
in this state shall be conducted in accordance with the requirements set forth in present law.
Effective August 1, 2014.
