DIGEST
Present law requires the Department of Education (DOE) to report annually to the Senate
Committee on Education, the House Committee on Education, and the Joint Legislative
Committee on the Budget regarding the implementation of the program, including the number of
eligible students receiving scholarships, a list of participating schools and the number of
scholarship recipients each such school enrolled, and aggregate test result data for the scholarship
recipients enrolled in each participating school.
Proposed law retains present law and additionally requires DOE to report annually to each state
senator and state representative regarding the schools in his respective district participating in the
program. Further provides that such report shall include a list of all participating schools located
in the legislator's district, the total number of students receiving scholarships enrolled in each
participating school, aggregate test result data for the scholarship recipients enrolled in each
participating school, and historical scholarship recipient enrollment and aggregate test result data
for every year the school has participated in the program.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
