(8/1/14) AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 56:325(B)(3) and (C), relative to the possession limit for crappie2 caught on Lake D'Arbonne; to remove certain rule making restrictions related to3 Lake D'Arbonne; to provide terms, conditions, and requirements; and to provide for4 related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 56:325(B)(3) and (C) are hereby amended and reenacted to read as7 follows: 8 ยง325. Daily take, possession, and size limits; freshwater recreational fish; possession9 of finfish filets prohibited10 * * *11 B.12 * * *13 (3) The possession limit for crappie caught in Toledo Bend Reservoir and in14 Lake D'Arbonne on a recreational license shall be one hundred fish.15 C. Act, size limits, daily take limits, possession limits, seasons, and times set by law for1 freshwater recreational fish. Such limits, seasons, and times may vary between and2 among waterbodies based on biological data or for purposes of research or3 experimentation. DIGEST Walsworth (SB 369) Present law sets a 100 fish possession limit for crappie on Lake D'Arbonne. Proposed law changes the limit from 100 to 50. Present law authorizes the La. Wildlife and Fisheries Commission to amend by rule size limits, daily take limits, possession limits, seasons and times for recreational fish, but prohibits the commission from amending the crappie limit on Lake D'Arbonne. Proposed law removes the prohibition related to the possession limit for crappie on Lake D'Arbonne. Effective August 1, 2014. (Amends R.S. 56:325(B)(3) and (C))
