Cortez (SB 37) Act No. 363 Prior law provided that, except as otherwise specifically provided by law, civil jurisdiction for the City Court of Lafayette is concurrent with the district court in cases where the amount in dispute, or the value of the property involved, does not exceed $15,000. New law provides that civil jurisdiction for the city court is concurrent with the district court in cases where the amount in dispute, or the value of the property involved, does not exceed $20,000.
