                    Morrish (SB 38)	Act No. 593
Prior law authorized each of the clerks of the district courts to purchase an automobile for
office use after obtaining consent of the governing authority of the parish.
Prior law authorized the clerks of the district courts of Acadia Parish, Bienville Parish,
Bossier Parish, Caddo Parish, Cameron Parish, Claiborne Parish, DeSoto Parish, East
Feliciana Parish, Franklin Parish, Iberia Parish, Lincoln Parish, Morehouse Parish,
Natchitoches Parish, Ouachita Parish, Red River Parish, St. Charles Parish, St. Helena
Parish, St. Landry Parish, St. Tammany Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, Vermilion Parish,
Washington Parish, Webster Parish, West Baton Rouge Parish, and West Feliciana Parish
to receive an automobile expense allowance equal to 15% of their annual salary, provided
the clerk of court maintains $300,000 of automobile insurance per accident for bodily injury
and $100,000 of automobile insurance per accident for property damage.
New law deletes the enumerated list of parishes and authorizes the clerk of each district
court to receive an automobile expense allowance equal to 15% of their annual salary,
provided the clerk of court maintains $300,000 of automobile insurance per accident for
bodily injury and $100,000 of automobile insurance per accident for property damage.
Prior law requires the expense allowance to come from surplus funds in each of the offices
of the clerks of court and at no additional expense to the state or local governing authority.
New law retains prior law.
 
Effective August 1, 2014.
