DIGEST
LaFleur (SB 381)
Present law provides that beer, wine, or other spirit sampling for the purpose of allowing a
consumer to try the taste of a product may be conducted on the premises of a Class A or Class B
permit holder.
Proposed law retains present law and further authorizes Special Event permit holders to provide
beer, wine, or other spirit sampling to consumers.
Present law provides that the commissioner shall promulgate rules and regulations for the
conducting of spirit sampling, which shall allow manufacturers and wholesalers to provide and
display a limited amount of point of sales materials.
Proposed law makes a technical change to present law by using the defined term "beverage
alcohol" instead of "spirit".
Effective August 1, 2014.
