AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 42:2.1(C) and (D), relative to boards and commissions; to prohibit individuals2
having outstanding fines, fees, or penalties pursuant to the Code of Governmental3
Ethics  from serving on boards and commissions; to provide for definitions; and to4
provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1.  R.S. 42:2.1(C) and (D) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 7
ยง2.1. Boards, commissions, councils, authorities, entities; composition8

C. No person owing any outstanding fines, fees, or penalties pursuant to10
the Code of Governmental Ethics shall be appointed to any board or11
commission of the state or any political subdivision.12
D. For purposes of this Section, "outstanding fines, fees, or penalties13
pursuant to the Code of Governmental Ethics" shall mean a fine, fee, or penalty14
equal to an amount of two hundred fifty dollars or more imposed by the Board15
of Ethics for which all appeals have been exhausted.16
