SENATE BILL NO. 430
BY SENATOR WALSWORTH 
PUBLIC LANDS.  Authorizes the transfer of certain state land in Union Parish. (gov sig)
AN ACT1
To authorize and provide for the transfer of certain state property; to authorize the transfer2
of certain state property in Union Parish; to provide for the property description; to3
provide for reservation of mineral rights; to provide terms and conditions; to provide4
an effective date; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. The secretary of the Department of Culture, Recreation and7
Tourism, notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, is hereby8
authorized and empowered to convey, transfer, assign, lease or deliver any interest,9
excluding mineral rights, the state may have to all or any portion of the following10
described parcel of property to the Union/Lincoln Regional Water Supply Initiative:11
A tract or parcel of land in the Town of Farmerville, lying and being situated12
in the SE 1/4 of Section 25 and the NE 1/4 (Lots 1 and 2) of Section 36,13
Township 21 North, Range 1 West, Union Parish, Louisiana, more particularly14
described as follows:15
Commencing at a 1 1/4" iron pipe marking the Southeast corner of said Section16
25 and the Northeast corner of said Section 36, Township 21 North, Range 117 SB NO. 430

West; run thence N 88 degrees, 10 minutes W along the line between said1
Sections 25 and 36 a distance of 733.8 feet to the Point of Beginning Proper:2
thence measure N 00 degrees 20 minutes E a distance of 943.2 feet to an iron3
rod; thence measure N 89 degrees 40 minutes W a distance of 1108.6 feet to an4
iron pipe on the East right-of-way line of Nan Street; thence in a Southerly5
direction along said East right-of-way line of Nan Street and in a Southeasterly6
direction along the Northeasterly right-of-way line of the Forks Ferry Road a7
distance of 1090 feet, more or less, to a 1" iron pipe which is S 00 degrees 208
minutes W a distance of 266.8 feet from the point of beginning proper; thence9
measure N 00 degrees 20 minutes E a distance of 266.8 feet to the point of10
beginning proper, containing 21.49 acres, more or less. All as shown on a map11
prepared by the Louisiana Department of Public Works, File No. SP 77, filed12
in Plat Book A, page 65 of the records of Union Parish, Louisiana.13
Section 2. The secretary of the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism14
is hereby authorized to enter into such agreements, covenants, conditions, and15
stipulations and to execute such documents as necessary to properly effectuate any16
conveyance, transfer, assignment, lease or delivery of title, excluding mineral rights,17
to the property described in Section 1, and as more specifically described in any such18
agreements entered into and documents executed by and between the secretary of the19
Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism and the Union/Lincoln Regional20
Water Supply Initiative, in exchange of consideration proportionate to at least the21
appraised value of the property.22
Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not23
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature24
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If25
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become26
effective on the day following such approval.27 SB NO. 430
