PUBLIC LANDS. Provides for the transfer of certain state properties in East Baton Rouge
Parish. (gov sig)
AN ACT1
To authorize and provide for the transfer of certain state property; to authorize the transfer2
of certain state property in East Baton Rouge Parish from the Department of Health3
and Hospitals to the Central Community School System of East Baton Rouge Parish;4
to provide for the property description; to provide for reservation of mineral rights;5
to provide terms and conditions; to provide an effective date; and to provide for6
related matters.7
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:8
Section 1. The secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals,9
notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, is hereby authorized and10
empowered to convey, transfer, assign, lease or deliver any interest, excluding mineral11
rights, the state may have to all or any portion of the following described parcel of12
property to the Central Community School System of East Baton Rouge Parish:13
Portions of the Greenwell Springs Tract situated in the Parish of East Baton14
Rouge, State of Louisiana, being the eastern part of Section 49, comprised15
within Letters "A", "M", "C", "E" in Township 5 South, Range 2 East,16
Greensburg Land District, Louisiana, containing one hundred sixty-one and17 SB NO. 433

88/100 (161.88) acres east of Greenwell Springs Road.1
Section 2. The secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals is hereby2
authorized to enter into such agreements, covenants, conditions, and stipulations and3
to execute such documents as necessary to properly effectuate any conveyance,4
transfer, assignment, lease or delivery of title, excluding mineral rights, to the property5
described in Section 1 of this Act, and as more specifically described in any such6
agreements entered into and documents executed by and between the secretary of the7
Department of Health and Hospitals and the Central Community School System of8
East Baton Rouge Parish, in exchange of consideration proportionate to at least the9
appraised value of the property.10
Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not11
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature12
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If13
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become14
effective on the day following such approval.15
