Proposed law provides the Department of Health and Hospitals shall maintain a primary care
case management program as long as the department maintains a Medicaid managed care
program which also provides services to Medicaid enrollees through the use of managed care
organizations.
Proposed law provides all primary care case management options shall be offered to a Medicaid
enrollee at any time a Medicaid enrollee is allowed to enroll in the Medicaid managed care
program.
Proposed law defines "primary care case management program" and "managed care
organization" to mean it shall have the same definition as it is defined by 42 C.F.R. 438.2.
Effective August 1, 2014.
