Heitmeier (SB 489) Act No. 713
Prior law required the Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) to submit a diabetes
annual action plan, after consulting with and receiving comments from the medical director
of each of its contracted Medicaid partners, to the Senate Committee on Health and Welfare
and the House Committee on Health and Welfare no later than February first of each year.
New law amends prior law to provide DHH shall include within the annual diabetes action
plan the most current editions of the standards of medical care in diabetes by the American
Diabetes Association and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
Effective August 1, 2014.
