Proposed law provides the Department of Health and Hospitals, for a Medicaid managed care
program contracted for on or after January 1, 2015, shall include in the contracts for such
Medicaid managed care program the prohibition of emergency room wait time advertising by a
hospital, as defined in present law, that is participating in a Medicaid managed care program.
Proposed law defines advertising to mean any sign, display, light, device, figure, painting,
message, plaque, poster, billboard, or other thing that is designed, intended, or used to advertise
or inform.
Effective August 1, 2014.
