John Smith (SB 52) Act No. 367 Prior law, applicable to mayor's court generally, authorized the mayor, as presiding officer of the court, to impose court costs not to exceed $30 for each offense on any defendant convicted of a violation of a municipal ordinance. New law retains prior law and further provides that in addition to the court costs authorized by prior law, the mayor, as the presiding officer of the court of the town of Anacoco, may impose additional court costs not to exceed $20 for each offense on any defendant convicted of a violation of a municipal ordinance. Effective August 1, 2014. (Adds R.S. 33:447.13)
