Present law provides general provisions for the organization of electric cooperatives.
Present law provides special provisions for the election of the board of directors of the
Beauregard Electric Cooperative.
Present law provides for the election of the directors from nine single member districts and that
each director is elected for a three-year term, with the exception of transitional terms.
Present law provides that each cooperative member may vote only for the candidates in the
district in which the member resides.
Present law specifies how any vacancy on the board of directors of the Beauregard Electric
Cooperative is to be filled.
Proposed law repeals present law relative to the Beauregard Electric Cooperative board of
directors' election and the filling of vacancies. 
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
