Morrell (SB 590) Act No. 474
Prior law provided for six members to serve as the board of commissioners of the Oak Island
Neighborhood Improvement District (district).
New law increases the membership of the board to seven and adds the president of the
Neighborhood Association (association) to the board.
Prior law prohibited commissioners of the district to serve as members of the association
board of directors.
New law provides for the president of the association or his designee to serve as a member
of the board of the district.
New law provides for the president of the association or his designee to serve during the
president's term of office.
Effective upon signature of the governor (June 4, 2014).
