DIGEST Perry (SB 596) Present law requires a driver's license to bear the applicant's full legal name. Present law (R.S. 32:410(A)(3)(a)(viii)) provides that an applicant's driver's license may bear his social security number at his option. Proposed law provides that a driver's license shall not bear the applicant's social security number. Present law provides that the identifying information and documents of identification required to obtain a special identification card are the same as those required to obtain a Louisiana driver's license, as provided in R.S. 32:409.1. Proposed law adds that identifying information and documents of identification includes any alternative means to ensure that the applicant meets the requirements of certification developed by OMV.
