Present law provides for Carisoprodol as a Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance.
Proposed law amends present law to move Carisoprodol from a Schedule IV to a Schedule
II controlled dangerous substance.
Proposed law provides that wholesale drug distributors licensed by the La. Board of
Pharmacy and registered with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration shall be exempt
from the storage, reporting, record keeping, and physical security requirements for any
material, mixture, compound, or preparation which contains any quantity of Carisoprodol.
Effective August 1, 2014.
