Morrell (SB 654) Act No. 777 Prior law authorized the commissioner of alcohol and tobacco control to issue a Class A- General liquor permit to any bona fide commercial film theater which had a Class A liquor permit on January 1, 1994. New law prohibits the commissioner of alcohol and tobacco control from issuing a Class A- General liquor permit to any bona fide commercial film theater unless: (1)Alcoholic beverage sales are physically segregated from all other concession sales. (2)No one under the age of 18 is allowed to enter the area where such alcoholic beverage sales are conducted. (3)Requirements in prior law are met. Prior law authorized the commissioner of alcohol and tobacco control to issue a Class A- General retail permit for beverages of low alcoholic content to any bona fide commercial film theater which had a retailer's, Class A permit for beverages of low alcoholic content on January 1, 1994. New law prohibits the commissioner of alcohol and tobacco control from issuing a Class A - General retail permit for beverages of low alcoholic content to any bona fide commercial film theater unless: (1)Alcoholic beverage sales are physically segregated from all other concession sales. (2)No one under the age of 18 is allowed to enter the area where such alcoholic beverage sales are conducted. (3)Requirements in prior law are met. Effective on July 1, 2014.
