AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 56:116.1(B)(1), relative to the taking of game birds and wild2
quadrupeds; to provide for the taking of game birds and wild quadrupeds from a3
moving land vehicle on private property; to provide certain prohibitions; to provide4
terms, conditions, and requirements; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 56:116.1(B)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:7
ยง116.1. Wild birds and wild quadrupeds; times and methods of taking; penalties8

B. No person shall do any of the following:10
(1) Hunt, shoot, or take, or attempt to hunt, shoot, or take or take game11
birds or wild quadrupeds from a moving land vehicle on public lands or aircraft on12
public lands or private property. On private property, the landowner, or his13
lessee or agent with written permission, may take game birds and wild14
quadrupeds from a moving land vehicle.15

Present law prohibits the hunting of game birds and wild quadrupeds from a moving land
vehicle.
Proposed law prohibits taking or attempting to take game birds and wild quadrupeds from
a moving land vehicle on public lands but allows the taking of game birds and wild
quadrupeds from a moving land vehicle on private property.
Effective August 1, 2014.
