STATE AGENCIES. Prohibits state agencies from supporting certain events. (7/1/14)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 39:469.1, relative to tax exemptions, rebates, or economic development2
incentives for use associated with publicly-owned facilities; to prohibit financial3
support by state agencies for certain events; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 39:469.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows:6
ยง469.1. Prohibited events; publicly-owned facility7
No state agency shall provide financial support of any kind to any event,8
activity, or enterprise sponsored by a nonpublic entity if any contract entered9
into for such event, activity, or enterprise operates to prevent the contracted10
person or entity from participating in any other type of activity conducted in11
any other type of facility owned or operated by the state, any political12
subdivision of the state, or any agency, board, commission, or instrumentality13
thereof.14
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2014; if vetoed by the governor15
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective July 1, 2014,16
or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.17 SB NO. 663
