 AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 37:3708 and 3715(6), relative to the Behavior Analyst Practice2
Act; to provide for registration of line technicians; to provide for persons and3
practices not affected by the practice act; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 37:3708 and 3715(6) are hereby amended and reenacted to read as6
follows: 7
§3708. Registration of line technician; denial or revocation of a registration8
A. A registered line technician shall be at least eighteen years of age and9
possess a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.10
B. A line technician shall be registered by his supervising licensed behavior11
analyst with the board.12
B. At C. Within fourteen days from the date of application for13
registration, the line technician shall submit initiate a criminal background report14
from the Louisiana Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information of the office15
of state police within the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, issued not16
more than fourteen days from the date of registration.17
 D. The board has the authority to deny or revoke a registration in the18
best interest of public safety and welfare.19
C. E. The registration provided for in this Section shall be renewed annually20
by the supervising licensed behavior analyst.21

§3715. Persons and practices not affected23
The provisions of this Chapter shall not be construed as prohibiting or24

restricting the practice of any of the following:1

(6) A matriculated college or university student, intern, or postdoctoral fellow3
whose activities are part of a defined behavior analysis program of study	, or4
practicum, intensive practicum, or supervised independent fieldwork. Such practice5
under this exemption requires the direct supervision by a licensed behavior analyst6
in this state or an instructor in an approved course sequence approved by the board7
supervised field or clinical experience, provided the experience is conducted8
under the extended authority of the university faculty member assigned to the9
course and supervised by a licensed behavior analyst.  A student, intern, or10
postdoctoral fellow shall not represent himself as a behavior analyst and shall use a11
title that clearly indicates his training status, such as "behavior analysis student",12
"behavior analysis intern", "behavior analysis trainee", or other title clearly13
indicating such training status.14
