SPECIAL DISTRICTS.  Repeals provisions relative to the Tangipahoa Parish Economic

AN ACT1
To repeal Subpart B-35 of Part IV of Chapter I of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes2
of 1950, comprised of R.S. 33:130.701 through 130.709, relative to the Tangipahoa3
Parish Economic Development District; to provide for an effective date; and to4
provide for related matters.5
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. Subpart B-35 of Part IV of Chapter I of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised8
Statutes of 1950, comprised of R.S. 33:130.701 through 130.709, is hereby repealed in its9
entirety.10
Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not11
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature12
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If13
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become14
effective on the day following such approval.15 SB NO. 97

Nevers (SB 97)
Present law creates a political subdivision of the state within the parish of Tangipahoa to be
known as the Tangipahoa Parish Economic Development District. Provides that the purpose
of the district is for the primary object and purpose of promotions and encouraging the
development of economic and industrial opportunities, stimulating the economy through
renewed commerce and industry, and for the utilization and development of natural and
human resources of the area by providing job opportunities.
Proposed law repeals the Tangipahoa Parish Economic Development District.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
