Nevers (SB 97)
Present law creates a political subdivision of the state within the parish of Tangipahoa to be
known as the Tangipahoa Parish Economic Development District.  Provides that the purpose of
the district is for the primary object and purpose of promotions and encouraging the development
of economic and industrial opportunities, stimulating the economy through renewed commerce
and industry, and for the utilization and development of natural and human resources of the area
by providing job opportunities.
Proposed law repeals the Tangipahoa Parish Economic Development District.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
