BY SENATOR GALLOT AND REPRESENTATIVE SHADOIN
COMMENDATIONS. Commends William "Tucker" Smith on being awarded the Tiger
Athletic Foundation University College Sophomore Award.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend and congratulate William "Tucker" Smith on being awarded the Tiger Athletic2
Foundation University College Sophomore Award.3
WHEREAS, on April 1, 2014, Louisiana State University College held its annual4
"Celebration of Excellence" Spring Awards program and awarded $64,000 through fifty-five5
scholarships, ten LSU faculty teaching awards, and one LSU Advisor of the Year Award;6
and7
WHEREAS, since 1933 LSU University College has served as the portal of entry for8
students enrolled at LSU and providing a foundation of support services for students9
beginning their academic careers at LSU, including academic support programs which focus10
on particular student populations and are a significant part of the role and mission of11
University College; and12
WHEREAS, the Tiger Athletic Foundation University College Sophomore Award13
is provided through the support of the Tiger Athletic Foundation and is awarded to a14
full-time student enrolled in University College at LSU having completed a minimum of15
thirty hours of college level work and earned a 3.5 or higher GPA; and16
WHEREAS, William "Tucker" Smith was awarded the Tiger Athletic Foundation17
University College Sophomore Award at the Celebration of Excellence; and18 SCR NO. 116

WHEREAS, he is a sophomore majoring in Business Administration with a 4.0 GPA,1
is the son of William and Kelly Smith, and is a graduate of Cedar Creek School in Ruston,2
Louisiana; and3
WHEREAS, William "Tucker" Smith merits the utmost respect for the exemplary4
strides he has taken in his pursuit of academic excellence, and for the tremendous honor and5
pride that he brings to his family, friends, community, and the state of Louisiana.6
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana hereby7
commends and congratulates William "Tucker" Smith on being awarded the Tiger Athletic8
Foundation University College Sophomore Award.9
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to10
William "Tucker" Smith.11
