SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 123
BY SENATOR NEVERS 
WILDLIFE/FISHERIES DEPT. Requests the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to study
and make recommendations to alleviate problems accessing the Pearl and Bogue Chitto
rivers.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To urge and request the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to study and make2
recommendations to alleviate problems accessing the Pearl and Bogue Chitto rivers.3
WHEREAS, accessibility of the state's great waterways is important to recreational4
and commercial interests; and5
WHEREAS, low head dams on the Pearl and Bogue Chitto rivers have restricted6
boater access for more than fifty-seven years; and7
WHEREAS, in an effort to improve accessibility and safety, the Louisiana8
Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers should9
collaborate on adding and upgrading boat launch sites as well as providing better access to10
the waterways; and11
WHEREAS, any workable plan should include efforts to maximize boater access and12
utilization of the Pearl and Bogue Chitto rivers.13
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby14
urge and request the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to study and make detailed15
recommendations in a report to improve boater accessibility in the Pearl and Bogue Chitto16
rivers.17
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such report shall be submitted to the Louisiana18 SCR NO. 123

Legislature no later than April 13, 2015.1
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the2
secretary of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.3
