Women's Health Week.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To designate and recognize the week following Mother's Day - Sunday, May 11 through2
Saturday, May 17, 2014, as "National Women's Health Week".3
WHEREAS, National Women's Health Week celebrates the extraordinary progress4
in women's health and recognizes that more needs to be done to safeguard the health of5
women for generations to come; and6
WHEREAS, women from all walks of life and at every stage of life have unique7
health needs that should be addressed in their own right; and8
WHEREAS, keeping women healthy and safe and promoting awareness of women's9
health issues depends on partnerships with social, health, and other services; and10
WHEREAS, women can promote health and prevent disease and illness by taking11
simple steps to improve their physical, mental, social, and spiritual health; and12
WHEREAS, women's health remains a priority for families, communities, and13
government, and our commitment to keeping women healthy is stronger than ever; and14
WHEREAS, during the week following Mother's Day the Louisiana Department of15
Health and Hospitals' Office of Public Health and its partners will work together to improve16
awareness of key women's health issues in our state.17
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby18 SCR NO. 132
