SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 144
BY SENATOR MORRISH AND REPRESENTATIVE HENSGENS 
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend the Hackberry Lady Mustangs track team on winning the 2014 Class C
outdoor track and field state championship.
WHEREAS, the state outdoor track and field meet was held at the LSU Bernie
Moore Stadium on the Louisiana State University campus in Baton Rouge with the Class C
meet held on May 8; and
WHEREAS, the Hackberry girls earned a score of one hundred ninety points, besting
Epps, the runner-up, by more than one hundred points; and
WHEREAS, first place finishes were recorded as follows:  javelin, Abbie Delcambre;
pole vault, Reagan Darbonne; discus, Mattie Stine; 100-meter run, Reagan Darbonne; 100-
meter hurdles, Reagan Darbonne; and the 800-meter relay, Skylar Jinks, Torey Little,
Brianne Beard, and Destiny Simon; and
WHEREAS, second place finishes were recorded as follows: high jump,
Kaye Leigh LaBove; shot put, Maygan Raffield; discus, Maygan Raffield; 400-meter run,
Destiny Simon; and the 400-meter relay, Skylar Jinks, Torey Little, Reagan Darbonne, and
Destiny Simon; and
WHEREAS, third and fourth place finishes were recorded as follows: long jump,
Sydney Broussard (4); triple jump, Sydney Broussard (4); 200-meter run, Destiny Simon (3);
300-meter hurdles, Skylar Jinks (4); 800-meter run, Karlie Stine (3); 3,200-meter run,
Abby Trahan (3); and 400-meter relay, Jeanne Trahan, Abby Trahan, Brianne Beard,
Jolie Trahan (3) and Blair Trahan, Ashtyn Hare, Blanche Beard, and Karlie Stine (4); and
WHEREAS, the girls team was anchored by seniors, Mattie Stine and
Destiny Simon, who brought their senior leadership skills and their experience from being
successful in the state meet in 2013; and
WHEREAS, with experienced seniors leading the team, the Hackberry High School
girls track and field team broke loose from the other Class C teams and tallied a score more
than one hundred points greater than their closest opponent. SCR NO. 144	ENROLLED

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the Hackberry Lady Mustangs track team on winning the 2014 Class C outdoor
track and field state championship.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of Hackberry High School.
