SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 24
BY SENATOR ERDEY AND REPRESENTATI VE PUGH 
ROADS/HIGHWAYS.  Requests DOTD to study improving LA 22 to three lanes between
Springfield, LA, and I-55 in Tangipahoa Parish.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to study improving2
Louisiana Highway 22 to three lanes between Springfield, Louisiana, and Interstate3
55 in Tangipahoa Parish.4
WHEREAS, Louisiana Highway 22 is a two-lane roadway between Springfield,5
Louisiana, and Interstate 55 in Tangipahoa Parish; and6
WHEREAS, Louisiana Highway 22 needs to be improved from two to three lanes7
to accommodate increased traffic in the corridor, to improve traffic flow, and to prevent8
traffic congestion as a result of vehicles making left turns.9
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby10
urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to study improving11
Louisiana Highway 22 to three lanes between Springfield, Louisiana, and Interstate 55 in12
Tangipahoa Parish.13
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana further requests the14
Department of Transportation and Development to submit a written report of its findings and15
recommendations to the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works16
and the House Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works not later than17
February 1, 2015.18 SCR NO. 24

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the1
secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development.2
