SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 24
BY SENATOR ERDEY AND REPRESENTATI VE PUGH 
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to study improving
Louisiana Highway 22 to three lanes between Springfield, Louisiana, and Interstate
55 in Tangipahoa Parish.
WHEREAS, Louisiana Highway 22 is a two-lane roadway between Springfield,
Louisiana, and Interstate 55 in Tangipahoa Parish; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana Highway 22 needs to be improved from two to three lanes
to accommodate increased traffic in the corridor, to improve traffic flow, and to prevent
traffic congestion as a result of vehicles making left turns.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to study improving
Louisiana Highway 22 to three lanes between Springfield, Louisiana, and Interstate 55 in
Tangipahoa Parish.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana further requests the
Department of Transportation and Development to submit a written report of its findings and
recommendations to the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works
and the House Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works not later than
February 1, 2015.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development.
