Page 1 of 1 Regular Session, 2014 ENROLLED SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 29 BY SENATORS GARY SMITH AND BROWN AND REPRESENTATI VES GAINES, MILLER AND WILLMOTT A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To commend Milton Cambre for decades of service in leading coastal restoration efforts. WHEREAS, Milton Cambre has been the voice of the LaBranche Wetlands for nearly forty years; and WHEREAS, he was raised on the banks of the Mississippi River in Pauline, Louisiana, and grew up with a great love and appreciation for the plentiful way of life the river provided; and WHEREAS, Milton Cambre served his country in the 545th transportation detachment of the United States Army and returned home to work in the refining and petrochemical industry; and WHEREAS, over the last twenty-five years, he has been a part of numerous environmental documentaries, including a TBS and United Nations World Population Fund production shown across the globe; and WHEREAS , in 1991, Milton Cambre was honored as President Bush's 387th "Daily Point of Light"; and WHEREAS, for many years he has worked with Barry Guillot and the Learn and Serve group, The Wetland Watchers, as this committed group of educators and young people are now in the process of building a twenty-eight acre Wetland Watcher Park on the shore of Lake Pontchartrain, dedicated to teaching future generations the value of wetlands and how our lives are affected by the loss of them. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Milton Cambre for decades of service in leading coastal restoration efforts. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Milton Cambre. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
