SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 34

COMMENDATIONS. Commends the Public Administration Institute Student Association
(PAISA) at Louisiana State University and recognizes April 13, 2014, as the Annual PAISA
Day at the Legislature.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend the Public Administration Institute Student Association (PAISA) at Louisiana2
State University and to recognize April 13, 2014, as the sixteenth annual PAISA Day3
in the state of Louisiana.4
WHEREAS, the Public Administration Institute Student Association is the official5
student organization of the Public Administration Institute at Louisiana State University; and6
WHEREAS, the Public Administration Institute Student Association is known as7
PAISA to students, staff and alumni of the Public Administration Institute at Louisiana State8
University; and9
WHEREAS, the public administration program at Louisiana State University and10
PAISA prepares graduate students with classes and programs that address issues in11
government, health care, economics, budgeting, and statistics; and12
WHEREAS, the public administration curriculum also includes courses in political13
science and management that focuses on the analytical, quantitative, and management skills14
needed by today's successful public and private administrators; and15
WHEREAS, graduates of PAISA have obtained exciting jobs as presidential16
management interns in various federal agencies, budget analysts for federal, state, and local17
governments, staff assistants for congress and state legislators, research directors and18 SCR NO. 34

associates for private think tanks and administrative positions in health delivery1
organizations; and2
WHEREAS, all administrators are vital to the continuing development of our state3
and country; and4
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the students of PAISA for their5
outstanding accomplishments.6
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby7
commend the Public Administration Institute Student Association (PAISA), an effective8
partner of the LSU Public Administration Institute, in developing government managers and9
leaders, and does hereby recognize April 13, 2014, as the sixteenth annual PAISA Day in10
the state of Louisiana.11
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to12
Thomas Rodgers, president of PAISA at Louisiana State University.13
