SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 73
BY SENATOR WARD AND REPRESENTATI VE LEGER 
LEGIS POWERS/FUNCTIONS.  Establishes the Community Health Caucus of the
Legislature of Louisiana.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To establish the Community Health Caucus of the Legislature of Louisiana and to provide2
relative to the caucus.3
WHEREAS, community health centers provide access to high quality primary care4
in under-served communities across the state, providing care for Louisiana's most5
vulnerable; the uninsured; and6
WHEREAS, community health centers substantially impact the physical and7
economic health of the communities they serve through over 800,000 patient visits per year8
resulting in a savings of 318 million dollars to the healthcare system annually, supporting9
over 2,300 jobs in Louisiana, and having a 12.8 million dollar impact on state and local tax10
revenue; and11
WHEREAS, legislators who represent constituents who rely upon, and communities12
that benefit from, the public service and high quality healthcare access provided by13
community health centers desire that the Legislature of Louisiana bestow additional14
significance upon their actions and opinions on legislation and issues concerning health care.15
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby16
establish the Community Health Caucus of the Legislature of Louisiana for the purpose of17
supporting the mission and goals of community health centers in the state.18 SCR NO. 73
