SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 84
BY SENATORS WHI TE, DONAHUE, ERDEY AND NEVERS AND
REPRESENTATIVES BROADWATER, EDWARDS, PUGH AND
SIMON
COMMENDATIONS. Commends the Southeastern Louisiana University men's indoor
track and field team upon earning the 2014 Southland Conference Title and Coach Sean
Brady on being named the Southland Conference Men's Indoor Coach of the Year.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend the Southeastern Louisiana University men's indoor track and field team upon2
earning the 2014 Southland Conference Title and to commend Head Coach Sean3
Brady on being named the 2014 Southland Conference Men's Indoor Coach of the4
Year.5
WHEREAS, the Southeastern Louisiana University men's track and field teams6
concluded the 2014 Southland Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at the7
Birmingham CrossPlex as conference champions; and8
WHEREAS, the members of the track and field teams showed great sportsmanship9
and dedication resulting in ultimate success; and10
WHEREAS, each member is deserving of this great honor as the teams remained11
disciplined and proudly represented Southeastern Louisiana University; and 12
WHEREAS, seniors Brandon Daniels posted a time of 6.82 seconds in the men's 60-13
meter dash, earning second place; Tarvoris Mack placed fifth in the men's heptathlon; and14
T.J. Herbert posted a second-place time of 21.56 seconds in the men's 200-meter dash and15
also earned fifth place in the men's 60-meter dash with 6.84 seconds; and 16
WHEREAS, after leading the Lions to their first indoor title in history, Head Coach17
Sean Brady, earned the title of 2014 Men's Indoor Coach of the Year; and18 SCR NO. 84

WHEREAS, this award adds to his previous accolades of being named South Central1
Region Co-Men's Head Coach of the Year by the United States Track and Field and Cross2
Country Coaches Association and Southland Conferences Coach of the Year in 2009; and3
WHEREAS, senior Jeffrey Milliron joined his coach in the group of men's individual4
award winners by being named Men's Outstanding Field Performer after winning both the5
shot put and weight throw; and6
WHEREAS, Milliron's twenty points scored gave the Lions a big push towards their7
first indoor title; and8
WHEREAS, he and his teammate Clarence Robinson, competing in the high jump,9
were two of the twelve Southeastern athletes named to the 2014 Indoor Track and Field All-10
Conference Teams which were chosen by a vote of the league's head coaches; and11
WHEREAS, Southeastern Louisiana University's men's indoor track and field team12
is a source of pride for the university and the Hammond community.13
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby14
commend the Southeastern Louisiana University men's indoor track and field team upon15
earning the 2014 Southland Conference Title and Head Coach Sean Brady on being named16
the 2014 Southland Conference Men's Indoor Coach of the Year.17
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to18
University President, Dr. John Crain.19
