Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2014 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 139 BY SENATOR MILLS A RESOLUTION To commend and congratulate Matthew Joseph Prilliman on his graduation from Teurlings Catholic High School in Lafayette, Louisiana. WHEREAS, Teurlings Catholic High School (TCHS) is a school of about six hundred and fifty students that strives to embrace their students and to both nurture and inspire the very best in each and every individual student; and WHEREAS, this May, Matthew Joseph Prilliman has been named one of four Monsignor Charles Fortier Honor Graduates from Teurlings Catholic High School; and WHEREAS, the graduating class of 2014 will be recognized for their achievements at the Honors Convocation on May 18, on campus and they will celebrate their Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation at the Heymann Center on Monday, May 19; and WHEREAS, Matthew Joseph Prilliman, who scored a 32 Composite on his ACT test, will graduate with a 4.0 grade point average, both academic achievements of which he should be proud; and WHEREAS, during his time at Teurlings, Prilliman has been a member of the Beta Club, the National Honor Society, and he was a four-year soccer player for TCHS; and WHEREAS, Prilliman received a letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program as a result of his excellent performance on the PSAT exam and was named to the Academic Composite Team for Soccer; and WHEREAS, the Teurlings Class of 2014 chose as their motto "We have come a long way, but not half as far as we will go", a realization of the enormity of the challenges and accomplishments which lie ahead in the lives of each graduate, including Prilliman; and WHEREAS, the nurturing atmosphere and the emphasis on life skills at Teurlings seek to build not only academicians, but students prepared to succeed in life and the graduation ceremony is the first step for the 2014 seniors along the paths that their lives will take. SR NO. 139 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Matthew Joseph Prilliman on his graduation from Teurlings Catholic High School in Lafayette, Louisiana. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Matthew Joseph Prilliman, through the principal of Teurlings Catholic High School, Michael Boyer. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
